Dr. Junaid Syed
Co-founder & CTO Kolojic Ltd
Dr. Junaid Syed received his PhD and Postdoctoral in the UK and has built a distinguished career at the intersection of academia and industry. He is the inventor of 27 issued international patents in antenna design and wireless communications, most of those are in global production and has played an active role in shaping international regulatory standards through ETSI and FWCC/FCC. Dr. Syed created the Global microwave antenna business for Rosenberger, a Germany company, which is now a leading global supplier. Dr Syed has successfully led RF design teams in the UK, USA, and China of Andrew/CommScope Microwave antennas and has excellent track record of business development of Microwave antennas of CommScope, while leading that business in Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia. His career spans leadership positions in major technology companies and academic roles at institutions including the National University of Sciences and Technology Pakistan, Michigan State University USA, and Queen’s University Belfast UK. In recognition of his contributions, the Royal Academy of Engineering appointed him, Visting Professor at Edinburgh Napier University UK to build stronger bridges between academia and industry. He now leads Kolojic Ltd, working with universities, SMEs, start up and university spin out companies to transform research into real-world solutions.

Ir Professor Edwin Chi-Yan Tso
Associate Dean & Associate Professor
Ir Professor Edwin Chi-Yan Tso currently serves as an Associate Dean (Internationalization and Outreach) and Associate Professor at the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). research focuses on fundamental heat transfer, thermal management, indoor built environment and optics for cutting-edge energy-efficient and sustainable technologies and advanced engineered materials, featuring innovative passive radiative cooling and smart windows as passive building envelopes to reduce energy consumption and enhance sustainability in buildings. He has published over 110 journal papers to his credit. Of particular significance are his contributions to prestigious publications, such as Science, Nature Sustainability, Advanced Materials, Science Advances, Nature Communications, Advanced Science, and ACS Nano. Since 2020, he has consecutively ranked among the top 2% of the world's most highly cited scientists in Mechanical Engineering. Ir Professor Tso is highly recognized for his pioneering contributions, receiving local and international awards including but not limited to: NSFC Excellent Young Scientists Fund (Cat. B) (2025), the inaugural Hong Kong Engineering Science and Technology (HKEST) Award by the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (HKAE, 2025), RGC Research Fellowship (2024), The HKIE Grand Award (2024), Gold Award in TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition (US$1M) (2023), and Gold with Congratulations of the Jury in the Inventions Geneva Evaluation Days (2021). Beyond academia, he is the founder of i2Cool Limited, a startup dedicated to commercializing passive radiative cooling technologies. Under his leadership, the company has secured over HK$140 million in investments to date.
