ASEAN Business, Engineering, and Technology Symposium
ABEATS is an annual international conference initiated by the School of Business, IPB University to promote interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and students in business, engineering, and technology.
Since its inaugural symposium in 2019, ABEATS has been jointly organized by School of Business IPB University (Indonesia), Universiti Sains Malaysia (Malaysia), the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), and Satbayev University (Kazakhstan), rotating among partner institutions to strengthen global academic collaboration. The conference has successfully evolved from in-person meetings to virtual editions during the COVID-19 pandemic and back to international face-to-face events.
The 1st ABEATS 2019, held in Bogor, Indonesia, brought together participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, with selected papers published in Atlantis Press proceedings. In 2022, ABEATS returned as an in-person conference in Bali, Indonesia, welcoming participants from 8 countries and 17 universities. Most recently, ABEATS 2025 continued the conference’s international collaboration through partnerships with leading universities from Indonesia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and Kazakhstan.
Today, ABEATS continues to unite global researchers and practitioners, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative solutions to address emerging societal and technological challenges.
Business Innovation and Engineering Conference
BIEC is a biennial international conference initiated by the School of Business, IPB University to foster collaboration among researchers, academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and students in business innovation, engineering, operations management, digital transformation, and sustainable development.
Since its inaugural conference in 2020, BIEC has been organized by the School of Business, IPB University in collaboration with leading international universities and professional partners. The conference has successfully expanded its international network through collaborations with institutions across Asia and Europe.
The 1st BIEC 2020, jointly organized with the 2nd International Conference on Research, Management and Innovation in Asia (ICRMIA), attracted 222 participants from 13 countries and received 237 paper submissions, with selected papers published in internationally indexed proceedings and journals. In 2022, BIEC welcomed participants from 13 countries and 41 universities, receiving 86 abstract submissions, 74 full-paper submissions, and 55 presentations. Most recently, BIEC 2024 was jointly organized with the 4th Conference on Technology and Operations Management (CTOM) in Langkawi, Malaysia, further strengthening international collaboration through partnerships with universities across Asia and Europe.
Today, BIEC is a recognized international platform for knowledge exchange, research dissemination, and global collaboration, bringing together academia, industry, and policymakers to advance innovation and sustainable development in business and engineering.

Who can participate in the conference?
The ABEATS-BIEC Joint Conference 2026 welcomes researchers, academics, students, industry professionals, practitioners, policymakers, and government representatives. The conference focuses on Human-Centered AI and Responsible Innovation across business and engineering. Topics include AI and decision-making, ethical and trustworthy AI, digital transformation, sustainable innovation, AI for green transition, business analytics, engineering systems, and other interdisciplinary research aligned with the conference tracks.
What publication opportunities are available?
Accepted papers will be presented during the conference and considered for publication in the conference proceedings and selected partner journals, subject to the review process and publication requirements. Detailed publication information will be announced through the official conference website.

Where will the conference be held?

Is online participation available?
